Our Story

Singularities was born from research on formal modeling of change. In 1994, Dr. Araya published a demonstration* that certain equations, in a symbolic logic, fulfill the AGM postulates proposed by Alchourrón, Gärdenfors, and Makinson - the formalization of the concepts of beliefs and change for rational entities.

Around the same time, he proved that such formal system could generate the predictions and recommendations of several real product perception analyses done by marketing consultants. Since then, Dr. Araya pursued the research of this topic while developing several other Artificial Intelligence and academic ventures, such as ArtinSoft — the world leading company in source code transformation and migration; Mobilize.net — world leader in mobilizing corporate applications to mobile devices and cloud; SimMachines — the leader in similarity search and pattern recognition technology; and Cenfotec — the best IT private University in Central America.

In 2012, the Singularity company concept was born with the efforts to bring the theory to a full software platform; to implement a highly scalable machine learning and deduction engine that uses the latest data science and big data algorithms in order to generate the content and conditional rules (counterfactuals) that capture customer's behaviors and beliefs. During Q2 of 2014, Singularities took form with several POCs and the further development of use scenarios and experiences.

Innovating in Silicon Valley and Costa Rica since 2012.
